Circuits, LLC Announces UL 94V-0 Certification for Multi-layer Flex and Rigid-flex Printed Circuit Boards


Murrysville, PA - Circuits, LLC, a manufacturer of highly reliable flex and rigid flex printed circuit boards announced today that the company has received official notification from Underwriters Laboratories (UL) that it has been awarded 94V-0 certification for Type 3 and Type 4 Multi-layer Flex and Rigid-Flex PCBs manufactured at the site.

The UL 94-V0 certification awarded to Circuits fulfills UL flammability test requirements for Flammability of Plastic Materials for Parts in Devices and Appliances. Underwriters Laboratory (UL) is an independent not-for-profit safety testing and certification organization. Founded in 1894, UL has earned a reputation as a global leader in product safety standards development, testing and certification

The IPC6013 board classification identifies type 1 as single sided flex, type 2 double sided with plated through holes, type 3 multilayer flex with plated through holes and type 4 multilayer rigid-flex combination with plated through holes. The addition of Type 3 and Type 4 classifications to Circuit-s existing Type 1/Type 2 certification enables Circuits to assist customers across all end markets requiring the UL flammability certification for flexible PCBs.

Circuits received their UL certification for Type 1 and Type 2 flex circuits in July 2010. The company also obtained their ITAR registration in 2009, ISO9001:2008 certification in 2010, and operates under a quality management system (QMS) designed to meet the requirements of MIL-PRF-31032.
