Circuit Breakers interrupt full load currents in microseconds.

Press Release Summary:

Intended for commercial micro-grids and military DC power distribution systems, PowerMod™ Solid-State MVDC Circuit Breakers open in less than 700 ns, providing load protection in event of fault. Modules offer more than 99.7% efficiency and can switch power around fault for high uptime applications. At 10 kV, 50 Adc module measures 12 x 5 x 3 in. and is stackable for switching up to 100 kV. Modules operate fully on or fully off and provide >1 million hours predicted reliability per MIL-HDBK-217F.

Original Press Release:

Solid-State MVDC Circuit Breakers Interrupt Full Load Currents in Microseconds

Compact, solid-state medium voltage DC (MVDC) circuit breakers for use in commercial micro-grids and military DC power distribution systems are being introduced by Diversified Technologies, Inc. of Bedford, Massachusetts.

DTI PowerMod™ Solid-State MVDC Circuit Breaker Modules open in < 700 ns, providing load protection in medium to high voltage DC power distribution systems (> 3 kV) in the event of a fault.  Featuring > 99.7% switching efficiency, these modules can also switch power around a fault for high uptime applications such as maintaining power levels in a micro grid.

Capable of supporting a range of alternative sources and storage systems, including wind- and solar-power, battery storage, and flywheels, with a range of voltages, frequencies, and power levels, DTI PowerMod™ Solid-State MVDC Circuit Breaker Modules operate fully-on or -off.  At 10 kV, a 50 A DC module measures 12” x 5” x 3” and is stackable for switching up to 100 kV.

DTI PowerMod™ Solid-State MVDC Circuit Breakers are priced from $9,995.00 and provide > 1 million hours predicted reliability per MIL-HDBK-217F.
