Global Platform Delivers Improves Flexibility and Increases Performance
Plainville, Connecticut - August 19, 2003 - GE Industrial Systems, a business unit of the General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), announced today the launch of the first frame in a new global line of current limiting molded case circuit breakers featuring both UL and IEC main standards. This new line of circuit breakers, including the 100A frame that is currently being launched, delivers increased electrical protection performance, higher reliability and improved application flexibility for industrial applications.
Used extensively in distribution switchboard, panelboards, control panels and a variety of other industrial electrical distribution products, the global line of circuit breakers is currently available in Europe, and will be available in North America in August 2003 beginning with the 100A frame and will be followed by the remaining frame sizes. The Record Plus(TM) global line of circuit breakers offer several improved protection performance including:
o High Interruption Capacity 150kA @ 480V across all frames-excellent system protection with wider application range
o Low Let-Through Energy -less system stress, higher reliability, longer life
