Cincinnati Automation Releases an Automatic Run-out Inspection Machine

Cincinnati Automation releases an automatic run-out inspection machine for cylinders, rods and pistons. The machine can be programmed for a wide range of part lengths and diameters. The heart of the system is a set of Keyence LKG series laser displacement sensors. These sensors can have repeatability as tight as 0.01um, based on the desired measuring range. Other features include a precision load cell to confirm part weight, quick part number selection and inspection results displayed via a touch screen HMI. A servo was used to provide optimum part loading height, to position the part for assembly & test operations, and to lower the finished part for unloading. Good parts are released to the operator while rejected parts are contained in the test machine.

Cincinnati Automation provides machine vision, laser and robotic systems integration for industry. They are a certified integrator for Cognex, DVT, Keyence, Omron, Denso, IAI, Motoman, Electrox and others. CA has a complete line of standard inspection machines, sorting machines, color detection and assembly verification systems.
