New Valenite Power Milling Chucks Have Through-Coolant Capability

Tool holder is designed for high-speed application.

A new line of compact, easy-to-use power milling chucks are now available from Valenite, 31700 Research Park Drive, P.O. Box 9636, Madison Heights, MI 48071.

Primarily designed for rough and finish milling applications, these durable power milling chucks can be used where rigidity, maximum gripping and improved accuracy are vital application requirements. Precise axial tool presetting is simplified, since bushing/collet drawback during lock-up is eliminated.

Utmost rigidity is the result of a thick wall design, which resists deflection even under heavy side loading. The chuck has extremely strong gripping power, 5-10 times greater than ER
collet systems.

Precision grinding, careful selection of materials and heat treatment (56-60 Rc) have made for an enduring chuck design providing concentricity within .0002-in. T.I.R. at the nose.
Seals are used to resist contamination of internal components to increase service life while maintaining the best accuracy.

The new line of Valenite power milling chucks is available in BT 40 and CAT 40 and 50 shank sizes in 3/4-inch and 1-1/4-inch chuck capacities. Accessories include two straight slotted
bushing/collet designs to handle shank sizes ranging from 3/16-inch to 1.0-inch diameter. These collets feature a built-in preset screw at the back for precise tool projection adjustment.
Additionally, each milling chuck is equipped with a threaded hole behind the bore for auxiliary mounting of tool stops or presetting devices. Flange-entry coolant adapters are also available.
