Chuck Tool provides safe torque transmission.

Press Release Summary:

Synchro Chuck tool for synchronous tapping is suitable for use on production lines and CNC machines. It compensates for difference between programmed feed rate and pitch of thread ground on tap. Axial compensation withstands forces generated when spindle is reversed, thereby avoiding miscutting thread. Length compensation is +/-.08 mm. Synchro Chuck may be used with ER collets, GB style, and with Thermogrip shrinker nose configuration.

Bilz Introduces New Synchro Chucks For High Productivity In Synchronous Tapping

February 20, 2002 -- Bilz Tool Company (Elk Grove, IL), has introduced a new tool for synchronous tapping. Ideal for use on high-volume production lines and CNC machines, the Bilz Synchro Chuck compensates for the difference between the programmed feed rate and the pitch of the thread ground on the tap itself. The axial compensation increases tap life and produces excellent thread quality.

Typically, in rigid tapping applications, strong axial forces are exerted upon the tap because of the differences in the programmed feed rate and the pitch that is ground on the tap itself, causing high tool wear and diminished thread quality.

Bilz Synchro Chucks combat this problem using minimal length compensation that corrects synchronization errors during the cutting process. They also withstand high axial forces that are generated when the spindle is reversed, thereby avoiding miscutting of the thread.

The Synchro Chuck is designed for use with the ER collets, GB style and with the Thermogrip shrinker nose configuration. The holders are available with all the popular shank mountings eg: HSK, Cat "V", and straight shanks.

With a slim, compact design, the Synchro Chucks provide optimal concentricity, safe torque transmission and shorter tool changeover due to longer tap life. Length compensation is +/- .08mm.

Bilz Tool Co., Inc., part of the Leitz Metalworking Technology Group of companies (Oberkochen, Germany), manufactures a premier line of high technology tool holders for drilling, tapping and reaming. The company also represents Morris Tooling, offering SDH advanced toolholder technology.
