Chromium-Molybdenum Electrodes weld 9Cr-1Mo alloyed steels.

Press Release Summary:

Gas-shielded, flux cored electrodes, Select 810-B8 and Select 910-B9, are all-position wires that feature uniform weld beads with good tie-in as well as smooth and stable arc transfer. Both products eliminate defects such as lack of fusion and tolerate mill scale and rust. Select 810-B8 is utilized to weld 9Cr-1Mo alloyed steels involved in high-temperature service, while Select 910-B9, which contains niobium, vanadium, and nitrogen, is used to weld creep-resistant steels.

Chromium- Molybdenum Electrodes from Select-Arc

Fort Loramie, OH - Select-Arc, Inc. offers two gas-shielded, flux cored electrodes formulated for welding of 9Cr-1Mo alloyed steels.

Select 810-B8 and Select 910-B9 are all position wires which feature uniform weld beads with good tie-in, smooth and stable arc transfer and increased deposition rates when compared to covered electrodes and solid wire products. Both electrodes eliminate defects such as lack of fusion and are designed to provide greater tolerance of mill scale and rust.

Select 810-B8 is utilized to weld 9Cr-1Mo alloyed steels, such as A335-P9 piping and A213-T9 tubing, which are involved in high temperature service in the petrochemical and petroleum industries.

Select 910-B9, which contains small additions of niobium, vanadium and nitrogen, is used to weld creep resistant steels such as A387 Gr 91 plate; A335-P91 and A369-FP91 piping; A199-T91, A200-T91 and A213-T91 tubing; and A182-F91 forgings. This electrode is also well suited for applications such as power plant turbine casings, valves, headers and piping.
