Atlas 2002 Release 2 Enables Comparison of Chromatographic Data from Disparate CDS
Thermo LabSystems, a Thermo Electron (NYSE: TMO) business and global leader in laboratory informatics solutions and services, announces the release of the latest version of its Atlas Chromatography Data System (CDS), Atlas 2002 Release 2 (R2). Atlas 2002 R2 includes a series of new features to offer easy retrieval and reprocessing capability for chromatographic data from other CDS previously archived in a normalized data format, improved instrument management and control, and enhanced file security.
The highlight of Atlas 2002 R2 is support for the import of CDS data previously exported and stored in the GAML (Generalized Analytical Markup Language) format. GAML is a public domain data format model, called a schema, for the application of XML (eXtensible Markup Language) in the management and storage of analytical data. The schema itself, and additional information on the GAML format, can be downloaded from www.gaml.org
Users of Atlas 2002 R2 are now able to import an entire Atlas workbook as a GAML file, including raw data, processed data and results, methods, reports, calibration details and audit trail for reprocessing, further reporting and subsequent re-archival. Most significantly, Atlas also now allows the import of raw data and peak result details from other CDS that have been previously archived as GAML files. This permits users to view the trace, re-integrate and re-process data from legacy CDS such as HP-LAS, Beckman PeakPro®, Agilent ChemStation(TM), Thermo Finnigan PC1000 and PerkinElmer TurboChrom(TM). For the first time, chromatographers are now able to compare data from disparate CDS using a single application. Additionally, data originally acquired from other CDS can be reprocessed using methods developed in Atlas.
Other significant new functional enhancements over the previous version (Atlas 2002 R1) include the following:
o Control for Thermo Finnigan SpectaSystem® devices P1000, P1500, P2000, P4000, AS1000, AS3000/3500, UV1000 and UV2000.
o Control of the Waters Alliance 2690/2695 LC instrument using the Atlas DataServer acquisition device. Support is available for single channel analog acquisition from the 2487 detector using the Atlas A2D acquisition device.
o Enhancements to instrument activation and licensing. Atlas now allows customers to better manage the number of instruments used concurrently for acquisition through an Atlas instrument license.
o Support for the Agilent 1100 Fluorescence Detector
