University Selects A Feature-Rich, Secure Network That Can Be Deployed Today And Scale Over Time To Accommodate Future Requirements
SUNNYVALE, California, November 29, 2007 - Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a global leader in user-centric networks and secure mobility solutions, today announced that Chowan University has selected Aruba's adaptive wireless LAN and user-centric networks for its 300 acre Murfreesboro, North Carolina campus. Founded in 1848 by North Carolina Baptists and named to honor the Native American Algonquin Chowanook tribe, the university supports approximately 1,000 students and features a campus-wide fiber optic network. Following an extensive review of available wireless LAN suppliers, Aruba was selected for the new campus wireless network on the basis of its high performance adaptive wireless LAN technology, comprehensive firewall and wireless intrusion detection capabilities, and life-cycle cost advantage.

Our first deployment phase includes 128 wireless access points, including outdoor radios to cover our athletic fields, and Aruba's new MMC-6000 Multi-Service Mobility Controller, which features a field-upgradable design and centralized architecture to simplify system deployment and maintenance. Over time we can add additional indoor and outdoor access points, as well as new features such as remote access for faculty and administrators, without sacrificing our initial investment."
