Chipset enables System Level Vectoring.

Press Release Summary:

With VINAX™ IVE1000 ASSP-based vector engine, operators can deliver quality triple-play broadband services, including multiple streams of HD-quality TV, Internet, and voice. By effectively eliminating crosstalk on system level, service providers can double data rates and achieve 100 Mbps symmetrical and beyond. In addition, up to 30% reduction in system power consumption can be achieved as compared to FPGA-based vectoring system.

Lantiq Announces Volume Shipment for System Level Vectoring Solution

With more than 1.5 million vectoring ready lines deployed in the field, Lantiq is the leading semiconductor supplier driving the System Level Vectoring roll-out in the market

NEUBIBERG, Germany, -- Lantiq, a leading supplier of broadband access and home networking technologies, today announced it has begun volume shipments of  Lantiq's VINAX(TM) IVE1000 ASSP-based vector engine, which enables worldwide roll-out of system level vectoring.

With more than 1.5 million vectoring ready lines already deployed in cabinets and central offices, Lantiq has one of the largest VDSL2 volume deployments in the market. Additionally Lantiq XWAY(TM) VRX family SoCs have shipped in multi-million VDSL CPEs now in the field, and all are upgradeable to vectoring through firmware update. Lantiq expects to see first large scale vectoring services in the second half of 2013.

Lantiq is the leading provider of chipsets for System Level Vectoring, addressing both ends of the copper wire with its solutions. Broadband networks equipped with Lantiq SoCs allow carriers to offer more than two times faster data connections and an increased reach of VDSL2 services, due to system level vectoring (crosstalk noise cancellation) and bonding.

Lantiq Vectoring Highlights and Benefits

--  Based on the Lantiq VINAX(TM) IVE1000 for central office equipment, operators can deliver best in class quality for triple-play broadband services, including multiple streams of HD-quality TV, Internet and voice. By effectively eliminating crosstalk on system level, service providers are able to more than double data rates and even achieve 100 Mbps symmetrical and beyond

--  Major reduction in system power consumption achieved with Lantiq SoC/ASSP based system level vectoring: Up to 30% power saving in a fully-vectored system compared to an FPGA-based vectoring system

Comments

David Boikess, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales:

"We are excited to now bring full scale, System Level Vectoring in volumes to the market. We believe vectored VDSL plus additional broadband bonding is essential to the future of broadband networks, as they boost bandwidth and enable superfast network connections of up to 200 Mbps. With the SoC/ASSP based System Level Vectoring technology from Lantiq, carriers can significantly extend their network performance with comparably low investment."

Availability

Lantiq's VINAX(TM) IVE1000 and the VDSL2 SoC's for Home Gateways (XWAY(TM) VRX200 and XWAY(TM) VRX300) are available in volume production.
