Universal Instruments Genesis-Lightning Chip Placement Solution on Display at APEX

Anaheim, California - Booth B4/884

Genesis-Lightning is the first system from Universal Instruments to combine two revolutionary Lightning placement heads on a platform machine. This combination delivers placement rates up to 57,000 cph, extending the acclaimed platform concept into the realm of high speed chip placement.

Productivity from Genesis-Lighting lets it compete in turret chipshooter domains, but it delivers much more. Featuring one of the broadest component ranges in the industry, the Lightning heads address components from 01005s to 30mm x 30mm. It places devices such as CSP, WSP, uBGA, and Melfs at full speed. As part of an all-platform line solution, the Genesis-Lighting machines can offload some devices reserved for flexible fine pitch mounting to optimize line balance and throughput.

Innovation includes large board capability, dual lane manufacturing functionality, proprietary dual linear drive positioning and a number of design enhancements such as feeders, vision, heads and software that maintain commonality with other Universal Instruments platform equipment.

Universal Instruments is a global electronics productivity specialist, providing innovative circuit, semiconductor and back-end assembly technologies and equipment, integrated system solutions, and process expertise to manufacturers in every sector of the electronics industry.
