J.W. Miller's New Sub-Miniature Chip Inductors Offer Excellent Tolerances at High Frequencies
GARDENA, Calif. - March 17, 2005 - J.W. Miller Magnetics has added a new series of micro-miniature chip inductors to its extensive offering of surface mount and through-hole coils, chokes, inductors and transformers. The new series PM0402T and PM0603T Chip Inductors are designed to provide extremely tight inductance tolerance with highly stable performance for applications where allowable deviation is critical.
Featuring a miniaturized size of just 1.0mm x 0.5mm x 0.35mm (Model PM0402T) and 1.6mm x 0.8mm x 0.45mm (Model PM0603T), the new components are especially suited for space-conscious applications requiring high-frequency, high-density circuitry. Typical applications include cellular phones, high frequency circuits, Bluetooth, and LAN and WAN wireless applications.
Photolithographic design enables precise tolerances of ±2%, with inductance ranges from 1.0µH - 68µH at 100MHz. The extremely efficient device exhibits a high Q value of up to 17 at 300MHz. Other performance characteristics include an operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C, a high self resonant frequency of up to 6 GHz minimum, and a DC current range of 70 to 800mA.
These new RoHS compliant chip inductors are packaged in tape-and-reel quantities of 10,000 and 5,000 units to accommodate high-speed automated assembly. Priced from $0.113 each (Series PM0402T) and $0.183 each (Series PM0603T) in production quantities, delivery is 4-6 weeks.
