Americhem Launches New Line of Chemical Blowing Agents

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio, May 26 -- Americhem Inc., a global provider of custom color and additive solutions for polymer-based products, recently launched an expanded line of chemical blowing agents (CBAs) to the market under the brand name nCore(TM).

"Americhem has taken the typical CBA to a whole new level with nCore(TM)," said Anna Ploplis Andrews, Ph.D., senior research scientist for Americhem. "By utilizing our unique research and development capabilities, coupled with our on-site field development team, we have created the perfect synergy for optimizing appropriate formulations for each customer."

CBAs have long been used in the industry and have many similar aspects. But with nCore(TM), customers will find a high-level of cost efficiencies, improved physical properties and decreased cycle time.

These improved properties include heat and sound insulation, sink mark prevention and nail and screw acceptance without requiring specialized installation equipment.

This is achieved through creating a fine balance of product development and customer service. Americhem has bridged the gap between "off the shelf" CBAs and customization based on customer requirements.

"Americhem partners with its customers and we bring our more than two decades of experience in global formulation, production and field support," Andrews stated. "Through on-site support and troubleshooting, most customers can receive a personal diagnosis by simulating their process at an Americhem lab, ensuring a quality manufacturing process. This saves production delays and interference."

nCore(TM) is available in pellet or powdered forms, for use in injection molding, extrusion and calendaring. It includes options for exothermic, endothermic, or blended products. It can be formulated to fit a customer's resin, compound and/or manufacturing processes, as well as used with a wide variety of polymers across multiple markets.
