Chromalox Introduces New Paperless Electronic Chart Recorder

Pittsburgh, PA -- March 21, 2006 - Chromalox®, the world's largest manufacturer of electric heat and control products, is introducing its new Electronic Chart Recorder that allows precise trending and recording for any type of process. The ECR1 is an easy-to-use "paperless" recorder that requires little initial set up and yields priceless data. This model allows users to monitor up to 18 process sensors for recording, storing and analyzing process critical data.

There are multiple combinations of digital inputs and outputs available for triggering events or alarms on the plant floor or in remote locations. The ECR1 is configured through a series of six slots in the rear of the recorder. Each slot accepts one card containing 3 sensor inputs, 6 digital inputs or 6 digital outputs. When all six slots are filled with sensor input cards, the recorder will capture 18 process variables per second. The digital input cards contain 6 inputs and each digital output card consists of 6 relays, each rated at 3 Amps. Data can be displayed in a variety of ways- from charts to bar graphs, both horizontally and vertically.

All recorded data is stored on a standard 16MB compact flash card, as typically used in digital cameras. Once the card reaches capacity, it can be removed and the data transferred to a computer for permanent storage and analysis. By using a flash card, the ECR1 holds 10 times more data than other recorders. This drastic reduction in data maintenance results in saving the user time as well as money. Ethernet network connectivity is also available for direct downloading of data to a PC. The ECR1 is equipped with a 6.1" color screen of razor sharp 640 x 480 resolution. It is easily configured with plug and play set-up. An innovative infrared heat/motion sensor powers down the display to decrease consumption and drastically increase the life span of the LCD display. The ECR1 can be ordered as a portable bench-top or panel mount configuration.
