Carboloy Offers Extended Range Of Solid Carbide Drills

November 14, 2001 -- Carboloy (Warren, MI), part of Seco Tools AB, has expanded its range of Super Alloy geometry chamfer drills and intermediate and semi-standard solid drills.

Now available in the 3mm-18mm diameter range, the new SD10, SD20 and SD25-style drills provide the high productivity and security required by unmanned machining. All drills are TiAIN coated, with an outer layer of TiN for high performance and long tool life. They are self-centering, and provide excellent chip control and evacuation in most workpiece materials.

The new Super Alloy geometry drills have a larger back taper and a more conical- shaped front point for less contact with the workpiece and reduced cutting forces. This design also leaves less residual stress on the hole surface, and minimizes burrs on the tool's exit. Intermediate and semi-standard drills in every style can also be ordered to meet specific diameter requirements.
