New Applications for the VarioFlow(TM) Chain Conveyor System

Company to display its VarioFlow Chain Conveyor at PACK EXPO Las Vegas, October 13-15, 2003, in Las Vegas, NV, Booth # S-5739
New additions to the selection of chains expand the capabilities for VarioFlow, especially in the Food and Packaging Industry.

The VarioFlow chain conveyor system from Bosch Rexroth now offers solutions to material handling in production and storage, with systems designed specifically for use in the food and packaging industry. Transport goods have different requirements of a conveyor medium. Rexroth offers a wide range of chain types and widths in the VarioFlow chain conveyor system to ensure its users find the optimum solution for conveying their products.

New additions to the product program are chain conveyors in 80, 100, 160, 240 and 320 millimeter widths. Besides the aluminum profiles and side guide rails, a stainless steel version is now available for use in the food and packaging industry. In combination with the new leg sets made of stainless steel, users can build conveyor systems that meet their specific hygienic requirements.

Rexroth has also enhanced its chain offering with newly cleated chain types: universal, accumulation roller and roller cleat. Users can easily equip the universal chain with their own cleats or fixtures, making it the ideal basis for customized chains. The accumulation roller chain ensures low surface wear during transport and prevents parts from bottlenecking. The accumulating roller chain ensures not only a lower impact pressure, but also prevents abrasions on the printed surfaces of the packaging. The static friction chains and roller cleated chains are ideal for more complex conveying tasks involving different levels, with product being transported on both inclines and declines without complex synchronization tasks. For vertical transport, a wedge conveyor now provides a new space-saving option.

It goes without saying that the VarioFlow system is fully compatible with the extensive Rexroth modular aluminum profile system, and it fits easily together with the standard components for customized applications.

The VarioFlow chain conveyor modular system also includes other new components such as connectors for lateral guides, holders for assembling various parallel sections to a traverse section and holders for mounting an alpine conveyor. The program also offers a connecting kit used as a transfer unit between a head drive and a return unit. In addition, there is a new drive kit available, capable of driving two chain conveyors simultaneously with a single motor.
