Cooper Lighting Introduces Energy Star CFL Slope Ceiling Downlights with Available Dimming

Peachtree City, Ga., September 19, 2008 - Cooper Lighting has announced the addition of two new slope ceiling compact fluorescent (CFL) housings to its Energy Star and Title 24 compliant recessed downlighting line. The new construction 6" aperture Air-Tite(TM) housings are designed for ceilings with 2/12 to 6/12 pitch and provide pleasing illumination by aiming the lamp straight down regardless of ceiling pitch. The downlights (H247ICAT and H248ICAT1D) offer high light output, pleasing color temperatures and dimming down to 15%.

Both housings accept 26W, 32W or 42W CFL lamp options and feature an electronic residential-rated ballast that provides quick starts and flicker-free operation. The H248ICAT1D housing allows dimming down to nominally 15% with a 2-wire fluorescent dimmer and standard residential wiring (2-wire plus ground).

Housings meet restricted airflow code requirements and are IC-rated (Insulated Ceiling) for direct contact with ceiling insulation. The Air-Tite(TM) feature saves energy by preventing airflow from a conditioned room into attic spaces.

Contractor-friendly installation features include Halo GOT-NAIL!(TM) bar hangers and Slide-N-Side junction boxes for fast and easy installation. Trim choices include white or black baffles. Housings have a two-year limited warranty.
