New Ceramabond 668 Bonds High Temp Ceramics to Metals

Valley Cottage, NY

SUMMARY

Ceramabond(TM) 668, a new high temperature adhesive developed by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to bond ceramics to metals used in applications to 2500ºF (1371ºC).

FEATURES

Ceramabond 668 is a single part, alumina-silica filled compound, which provides exceptional adhesion to ceramics and metals, and offers a maximum temperature resistance of 2500ºF (1371ºC). Physical properties include torque strength of 10.6 ft-lbs, dielectric strength of 245 volts per mil at room temperature, and a coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of 4.0 ppm/ºF (7.2 ppm/ºC).

Ceramabond 668 is ideal for use with ceramics as well as non-ceramic substrates such as steel and stainless steel. It is applied easily using a brush, syringe or pneumatic dispenser. After application, it dries rapidly at room temperature and cures in 2-4 hours at 200ºF and is resistant to most acids, solvents and fuels. Cleanup of uncured material is accomplished easily with warm water and soap.

Additional applications for Ceramabond 668 include bonding and encapsulating small electrical components such as resistors, igniters, temperature probes, and halogen lamps. This product is available from stock in pint, quart, and 1-gallon pails.
