New Ceramic Saddles Withstand Higher Temperatures
A new line of ceramic saddles, designed for longer life and increased performance in thermal shock conditions or continuous high-temperature environments, has been introduced by Jaeger Products, Inc., of Houston, Texas.
Particularly suited for RTO's (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers), the saddles are fired at 1200°C and exhibit greatly enhanced resistance to breakage from extreme thermal conditions. In addition, the new saddles possess higher levels of chemical resistance (even at very high temperatures), as well as superior wetting characteristics, high mechanical strength, and outstanding resistance to abrasion.
The new line is produced in accordance with recently developed manufacturing processes for smooth, beveled and longitudinally ribbed bodies that are consistent and uniform in shape. Thus, product performance fluctuation can be eliminated and operating efficiencies can be predicted.
During manufacture, the saddles are quality-assurance tested in accordance with latest standards. The testing includes chemical analysis, evaluation of physical property maintenance, and assessment of end-product chemical resistance.
The saddles are constructed of special stoneware or porcelainized material. Six sizes, ranging from 1/2" through 3", are available, including the popular 1" size. Other sizes are available on request.
