Sundyne Enhances Reliability of Sunflo High-Pressure Centrifugal Pumps with New P-2500

ARVADA, Colo., Aug. 1 /-- Sundyne Corp., a subsidiary of Hamilton Sundstrand, today unveiled its new Sunflo P-2500 high-pressure centrifugal pump model designed for general industry applications in non-API services including wash water, injection, seal flush, reverse osmosis, pulp and paper, dust suppression and NOx suppression. Hamilton Sundstrand is a business unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

The Sundyne Sunflo P-2500 pump incorporates many new features that greatly enhance the reliability of the Sunflo P-2000 product line, while preserving the simple maintenance philosophy that has been a cornerstone of the product line for more than 25 years. New features now available on the P-2500 pump include upgraded seal housing drain cavities, enhanced seal design, availability of numerous seal flush plans, labyrinth gearbox seal, and heavy duty bearings with more than 25,000 hours of L10 life. The new highly-reliable P-2500 high pressure pumps will carry a two year warranty. Sundyne is also offering a 10% discount to retrofit a P-2000 to a new P-2500 if performed by an authorized service center or at Sundyne's Arvada factory before December 31, 2007.

"With new Sundyne engineering and manufacturing enhancements, the P-2500 will be one of the most reliable high-speed general industry process pumps available today," said Jeff Wiemelt, vice president and general manager of Sundyne Corp.

The new Sundyne Sunflo P-2500 pump uses the same proven hydraulics with capacities to 180 gpm (41 m3/hr) and heads to 2,600 ft (792 m). Upgraded fully interchangeable high-speed shaft assemblies are immediately available at local Sundyne Sunflo dealers for P-2000 pumps already in service. The P-2500 can also use common seal flush plans for increased seal reliability such as the seal plan 11 with improved circulation around the process seal, and seal plan 13 with a return line through the gearbox to cool lubrication oil. Additionally, seal flush plans 14,21,31,41,23,32,62, and 54 are also available on the new P-2500.

"We have tested the new P-2500 pump in the field under extremely harsh environments including wash water and paper manufacturing applications", said Shawn Olson, Sundyne Corp.'s business unit manager for pumps. "P-2500 pumps are running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in plants around the globe," she said.

The Sundyne Sunflo high-speed centrifugal family includes the P-1500 for lower power applications, and P-3000 for large, pulsation free, high-pressure applications. Sundyne also has a family of highly reliable API process pumps, environmentally friendly magnetic drive seal less pumps, sanitary pumps, and high-speed compressors that fill a wide range of applications including hydrocarbon processing, power generation, food, and the chemical processing industries.
