Universal 3- finger Gripper JGZ: New Centric Gripper from SCHUNK

The new compact class from SCHUNK: the JGZ centric gripper is extremely economical and lends itself to a variety of applications.

The JGZ centric gripper is the first three-finger gripper in SCHUNK's new "Compact Class" - offering all essential functions and an excellent price-performance ratio. This universal gripper is intended for use in clean to slightly dirty environments, and is available in sizes 64 to 160.

With its large piston, wedge-hook kinematics and sturdy T-slot guidance, the JGZ grippers achieve gripping forces from 130 to 1819 lbf and weigh between 0.95 and 17.6 lb. Therefore, in standard cases, for example for purely metallic friction grip between the workpiece and gripper finger, workpieces with weights ranging from 6.4 to 66.1 lbs can be moved. If other materials or form-fit fingers are used, much heavier workpieces can also be moved without difficulty. The stroke adjustment range is between 0.24 and 0.63 inches per finger.

An extensive range of accessories is available for the JGZ series, including pressure maintenance valves, finger blanks and fittings as well as a quick-change jaw system. For position monitoring, the JGZ can be fitted either with solenoid switches or inductive proximity switches. Further sensors enable the incorporation of measuring system functions, with the FMS force measuring system, the FPS flexible position sensor or the extremely accurate APS analog position sensor, for example. As a result, the JGZ can also be used in complex assembly tasks that require precise positioning at a defined force.
