CP-2 Digital Cellular Communications

Release Date: Immediate

September 17, 2004. La Mesa, California: Logic Beach Incorporated has introduced the CP-2 Digital Cellular Interface Communications link providing wireless access to data logging and remote monitoring systems. The CP-2 utilizes the expanding CDMA digital cellular network for modem communication to any Logic Beach data logging and alarming product.

Data collection knows no physical boundaries. The need to conveniently collect data from within a plant's walls as well as from an inaccessible bridge in Arkansas is a daily occurrence in our world. Gathering collected data may require a long drive to distant locations or a walk out to the plant floor with a laptop. Connecting remote monitoring systems via a telephone link expedites all of these scenarios. In many cases a telephone land line may not be a cost effective solution or telephone service is just not available.

All data logging systems from Logic Beach Inc. offer optional telephone modems. The modem allows for establishing communications via a standard telephone line and now, with the introduction of the CP-2 Digital Cellular Interface modem, a wireless cellular connection. The CP-2 provides complete communication and control over Logic Beach data loggers, including real-time viewing, data downloading, and system interrogation and reprogramming. The new wireless link enhances the flexibility of the entire system and creates greater system mobility and control over remotely located systems. The CP-2 Digital Cellular Interface modem eliminates the drive across the outback or across town.

Earlier cellular communications utilized the now nearly obsolete analog cell network. The CP-2 Digital Cellular Modem from Logic Beach operates on the popular CDMA system offering clients a wide coverage area. The CP-2 user provides only a standard telephone cable and DC power to connect the Digital Cellular Interface to the data logger's internal modem. Once connected and activated, all functions of the data logger can be accessed as if through an RS232 port. Availability of service by cellular carriers determines geographical area and range of use.

The CP-2 resembles a standard telephone line and consequently can be connected to a variety of instruments and controls in addition to Logic Beach data loggers. Examples of other devices the CP-2 can wirelessly link to include PLCs and fax machines.

Logic Beach Inc., the authority in unrestricted data logging systems, designs, manufactures and markets portable data logging and recording systems. Specializing in ruggedized, programmable systems, Logic Beach Inc. offers a wide range of modular data loggers providing flexible solutions for multiple applications. The entire range of portable data logging products operates with HyperWare(TM) configuration software providing the industry's most powerful programming capabilities with an intuitive graphical interface.
