Environmentally-Friendly x86 Application Platforms Deliver Extensive Networking with Low Power and Price

(Taipei, Taiwan - October 7, 2008) Lanner Electronics, Inc., a leading designer and OEM/ODM supplier of advanced network application platforms, today announced the release of two new Celeron M-based network appliances suited for a wide range of network security and traffic management solutions. The Lanner FW-7520 and FW-7560 combine low power consumption with custom designed cooling solutions to deliver outstanding performance-per-watt, and built entirely with RoHS-compliant materials and production processes.

The combination of the ultra-low voltage Celeron processor and the Intel 910GMLE chipset, coupled with Lanner's unique thermal design advantages provide distinct long-term benefits for the end customer, not only by reducing the power required to run the appliances themselves, but also by reducing air conditioning costs in the server closet. The Lanner FW-7560 includes five RJ45 network ports standard, expandable to nine ports with an optional expansion module in a 1U rackmount form factor. It comes with one storage bay for either a 2.5" or 3.5" hard drive, along with two Serial ATA interfaces for additional storage and one DDR2 SODIMM slot for up to 2GB of memory. Customizable network modules can be configured with several combinations of gigabit copper, SFP fiber and bypass ports for high throughput and availability.

The FW-7520 is a fanless desktop system measuring only 36 mm in height. It includes five network ports, a single pair with bypass support, and two USB ports for administration. One internal 2.5" hard drive is included, along with a CompactFlash port and SODIMM slot for up to 1GB of DDR2 memory.
