LAS VEGAS, May 7 -- Cedar Point Communications, the leader in integrated VoIP switching technologies for the cable and telecommunications industries, announced today that it is unveiling enhancements to its SAFARI C(Cubed) Multimedia Switching System that are designed to exponentially expand scalability, and to increase operational simplicity and functionality across new market sectors.

In its booth (#447) at the NCTA Cable Show in the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Cedar Point is:

o Demonstrating new technologies for delivery of hosted Business Services
as a standalone service, using the same platform operators now are
using for residential services;
o Showing how the integrated, forward-architected SAFARI C(Cubed)
platform will enable cable and telecom network operators to enable the
last mile through WiMAX and support future Wireless and Multimedia
offerings; and
o Revealing plans to significantly expand the capacity and scale of
SAFARI C(Cubed) in the near term, without stranding existing customer
investment, and to evolve to a multi-shelf architecture.

In addition, Cedar Point is showing support for other advanced applications, such as video telephony, conferencing, ringback tones, unified messaging and "find me/follow me" services. The exhibit also will include a demonstration of enhanced operational tools for SAFARI C(Cubed).

"The simplicity, cost-effectiveness and scalability of SAFARI C(Cubed) have played a significant role in the accelerated growth of cable telephony in recent years," said Dave Spear, executives vice president, strategy and market development for Cedar Point. "As telecommunications moves beyond VoIP to multimedia and other applications, we believe that those attributes will help our customers and ourselves continue that success in the future."
