CDE Announce Latest OreMax Installation...

23rd November 2007

CDE have announced their latest ore washing project for a leading Indian water, sewage and steel manufacturing company, further increasing their Indian market share.

Electrosteel Castings Ltd is India's leading water infrastructure and steel manufacturer which provides advanced solutions for water supply and sewerage systems. The Company is India's largest manufacturer and one of the few manufacturers in the world, of ductile iron ("DI") spun pipes.

CDE will install their latest OreMax iron ore washing system which will remove excess silica and alumina in the Electrosteels feed stock in addition to achieving considerable 'Fe' grade point improvement in their plant in Karnataka, Northern India.

OreMax is CDE's latest generation ore washing system designed to accommodate up to 100tph of minus 20mm, with scrubbed, washed, and density classified products produced. Though built on a common platform each system is tailored to get the most from the feed material. The system also includes advanced water recycling to ensure that environmental parameters are properly maintained.

CDE's latest product advancement is unique in the market, as an iron ore washing 'station' as it includes attrition, screening, 2 stage cyclonic washing, dewatering, stockpiling, and water management in a fully integrated and readily installed system. The manufacturing and installation of this latest project will be managed through CDE's Indian office in Kolkata.

Announcing the project CDE's Chairman Tony Convery commented: "This latest project represents another important step forward in our vision for the ore washing sector. This part of the washing industry is at the heart of our development plans and Electrosteel are leading the way for others in their selection of the latest CDE technologies."

CDE Asia Sales Director Iain Walker added: "Even relatively small decreases in silica and alumina content offer considerable benefits to customers who process iron ore in blast furnaces, sponge iron plants, or sinters. CDE's system has proven capable of delivering highly impressive contaminant reduction whilst also increasing the Fe value by 6-8 points in most cases. Such is the value increment of properly washed ore that return on investment can typically be achieved well within the first year of operation."

This announcement is the latest in a series of valuable contracts CDE have won recently in India, including a £½ million contract to the Adhunik Group just last month.
