Elesys and Lexmark Announce the Industry's Smallest One-Step DVD/CD Recorder-Printer

-- The DUET(TM) 400 uses Elesys RadialPrint(TM) technology and Lexmark inkjet technology to simplify disc recording and labeling in professional and personal applications --

SUNNYVALE, Ca., and LEXINGTON, Ky., Feb. 14 / -- Elesys Incorporated and Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE:LXK) today announced the Elesys DUET(TM) 400, the smallest DVD/CD Recorder-Printer available in the U.S. market. Manufactured and distributed by Elesys, the DUET 400 relies on Lexmark inkjet printing technology.

The DUET 400 makes it quick and easy to record, duplicate and print on- demand. It is the smallest complete disc-publishing product on the U.S. market today.

The DUET 400 is based on innovative and patented technology that allows the printer mechanism to be positioned on top of the drive, creating a small footprint device, minimizing space requirements and producing functional efficiency. Its small size makes the DUET 400 ideal to integrate and use in a variety of settings and applications, such as music, photo and video kiosks, office data backup and storage, medical digital imaging, photography and videography.

Utilizing Elesys RadialPrint(TM) technology and Lexmark inkjet technology, the DUET 400 enables users to record content and print professional-quality full-color text and images directly onto the surface of an inkjet-printable DVD or CD. The DUET 400 ensures integrity between content and label by burning data to the disc and labeling it while the disc is still spinning in the drive, eliminating the need for multiple insertions.

"Elesys is committed to bringing innovative products to the growing market of DVD/CD users," said Luis Kemeny, Elesys' vice president of marketing and sales. "Whether labeling for professional or personal reasons, for backup or marketing applications, the DUET 400 simplifies the media recording and labeling process."

"Lexmark's focus is on developing technologies that make it easy to print and manage data from a variety of media," said Najib Bahous, Lexmark vice president and president of its Consumer Printer Division. "The DUET 400 is another example of how Lexmark's core technologies can be used to create innovative, easy-to-use products for home or business."

The DUET 400 DVD/CD Recorder-Printer prints up to 1,200 dpi with printing speed of 20 seconds to about 2 minutes, depending on image level, ink density and coverage. The DUET 400 supports most Windows-compatible labeling and recording software packages. It comes standard with the SureThing SE CD/DVD Labeler for DUET and the Sonic MyDVD, CinePlayer and RecordNow. The USB 2.0 Interface makes it simple to connect.

Elesys' RadialPrint devices are applicable to every market segment in which DVDs or CDs are recorded or duplicated.

Pricing

The DUET 400 began shipping in December 2005 with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $985. This pricing includes a top-of-the-line external DVD-CD combo drive, a built-in printer, appropriate driver, labeling and recording software, an inkjet cartridge, and a USB cable-all that is necessary to plug, record and print.
