Cast Film System features dual-use satellite extruder.

Press Release Summary:

Yellow Jacket Laboratory Cast Film Systems feature primary extruder, co-extrusion satellite extruder, multi-layer feedblock, push-pull cast film flat die, and cast film takeoff system with nip rolls. Dual-use satellite extruder, removable when running mono-layer products, features its own control panel that is independent of other extruder. Standard lines process most thermoplastics such as PP, PE, TPU, TPR, and their compounds.

Original Press Release:

New Reconfigurable Laboratory Cast Film Systems

Wayne Machine has developed a new line of Yellow Jacket Laboratory Cast Film Systems which allow researchers to quickly re-configure the extruders for optimal versatility in the plastics extrusion laboratory. Unlike co-extrusion systems with fixed control system, the dual-use satellite extruder on this line features its own control panel which is independent of the other extruder. This allows researchers to remove the extruder completely when running mono-layer products and to deploy the extruder as an independent primary extruder or as a co-extruder on another line. The lines feature a primary extruder, co-extrusion satellite extruder, multi-layer feedblock, push-pull cast film flat die and cast film takeoff system with nip rolls. The new Yellow Jacket feedblock brings unrivaled flexibility to the systems, allowing easy reconfiguration from mono layer to coextrusion, or, quick re-structuring of layers for rapid production of laboratory samples. Optional technology includes a tension regulated payoff system for producing multi-layer lamination on various substrates such as kraft paper or engineered films and foils. Standard lines process most thermoplastics such as PP, PE, TPU, TPR and their compounds like talcum filled PP. High temperature and high corrosion plastics are accommodated by optional equipment upgrades. Enhanced lines can process FEP, ECTFE, PET and other challenging plastic compounds. The pictured line has a 1" (25mm) primary extruder, a ¾" (19mm) co-extruder and 6" (150mm) die with take-off system.
