CAS DataLoggers Impresses at AHR 2012

Offering T&D Datalogging Solutions for HVAC&R Applications

CHESTERLAND OH - CAS DataLoggers has returned from presenting at the 2012 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigerating Exposition on Jan 23rd-25th, the world's largest HVAC&R marketplace. This year's show was one of the largest in the convention's history, with over 1,800 manufacturers and suppliers of the latest HVAC&R systems and products from all over the world. Over 50,000 attendees came to see the latest wireless and wired solutions from T&D products monitoring many parameters including temperature, humidity, voltage and current, among many others. CAS Applications Specialists were on hand at the T&D booth to showcase solutions and reduce customers' labor costs by replacing the need for time-intensive manual recording, guiding visitors to find the best device for their specific projects. This year's display saw heightened interest for T&D's wireless datalogging products as well as for the new TR-76Ui CO2 + Temperature + Humidity Logger, a versatile yet affordable multipurpose solution designed for the industry's needs.

Indoor air quality monitoring was the most common application customers came to discuss, with many HVAC manufacturers and installers requiring proof that their equipment performed to specification following installation. Commonly used for monitoring furnaces, ovens, refrigerators, freezers and cryostats, T&D's compact dataloggers offered attendees several portable battery-operated models as well as sophisticated monitoring systems collecting and automatically transmitting data from remote sites and featuring powerful alarm capabilities. Guests to the T&D booth found these durable solutions ideal for monitoring HVAC&R performance, energy efficiency, facilities monitoring, specialized climate control systems, performance of alternative HVAC systems, and their many other projects.

A main focus at the T&D booth was the new T&D TR-76Ui CO2, Temperature and Humidity Logger, a flexible three-channel data logger designed to simultaneously measure and record CO2 concentration, temperature and humidity. This single solution generated strong interest with its great pricing for customers needing to monitor carbon dioxide levels or who needed to log all 3 parameters. The supplied software enabled users to download recorded data to PC via USB connection, whereby data from all three channels could then be simultaneously viewed in graph or table form.

These dataloggers also offered customers a warning monitoring function with contact signal output and the ability to save data as text for use with common spreadsheet software. This 3-in-1 logger appealed to anyone looking for solutions from personal to business use, including residential measurements, monitoring CO2 levels in schools and offices, and/or energy-saving measures such as ventilation and air conditioning controls. TR-76Ui support on the TR-57DCi is planned for release at the end of February 2012.

Visitors also arrived requesting an affordable solution measuring both temperature and humidity, showing broad interest in the T&D RTR-503 wireless model recording both of these crucial parameters. These water-resistant devices see common use in food processing and storage, agriculture, and many industrial applications.

David Kempski, Application Engineer for CAS DataLoggers, described the warm reception for T&D's wireless products: "Everyone we spoke with at the show had a real need for improved energy efficiency and were excited when they saw the new 3-channel logger. They're looking to cut costs any way they can, but without being shorted on accuracy and alarm features, and T&D's wireless loggers offer single solutions in a compact product. We're continuing to work with many of our guests at the show to give them the information and products they need to get their applications started."
