Cartridge Filters utilize Platinum dirt holding technology.

Press Release Summary:

Equipped with segregated flow channels and flow chambers, 940 Series PLATINUM pleated cartridge filters provide reduced operator exposure. Available in cellulose, glass, polypropylene, and polyester media, 940 PLATINUM filters can be customized to fit particular processes or conditions. Constructed with 12.75 in. OD, their metal cores and caps make them suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications.

New Filtration Technology Minimizes Cost & Maximizes Cartridge Filter Performance

One new filter holds more dirt than 50 standard pleated cartridge filters or 200 string wound elements

Houston, TX, USA: FILTRATION TECHNOLOGIY CORPORATION (FTC), is introducing a new series of high-capacity, high-efficiency, pleated, cartridge filters that moves state-of-the-art cartridge filtration a quantum leap beyond conventional filtration technology. Called the 940 PLATINUM SERIES, the new unit is based on the company's proven "Platinum" technology, and offers a unique, patented, series of segregated flow channels and flow chambers that provide greater dirt holding capacity with a smaller element footprint. The primary advantages of the system include:

o Reduced initial capital cost of new equipment
o Effective operating cost reduction
o Minimized disposal costs
o Reduced operator exposure (very important in hazardous applications)
o High dirt holding capacity

According to FTC President, John Hampton: "The 940 PLATINUM cartridge filter is specifically aimed at high volume and high contaminant loading applications in the refining and process industries, and has focused use in the oil and natural gas patch for use on completion fluids, amine and glycol filtration, produced water, and sulfur recovery operations where dramatic costs savings can be achieved. In one case, four 940 PLATINUM cartridges lasted six weeks effectively replacing over 1500 string-would cartridge elements and reducing associated labor and disposal costs by a factor of 12 or more."

Available in four basic media (cellulose, glass, polypropylene and polyester), the 940 PLATINUM filter can be customized to fit particular process or corrosive conditions. It is constructed with metal cores and caps which, when coupled with the proper media, make it ideal for high pressure and high temperature applications.

The 940 PLATINUM series has a 12.75-inch outside diameter (OD) and utilizes FTC's patented "Platinum" technology to maximize dirt holding capacity. The use of segregated flow channels and flow chambers allow the fluid to flow through all portions of the media. This gives a Dirt Holding Capacity (DHC) that is up to 2½ times greater than conventional pleated units occupying the same space. The end result of this technology is more efficient use of space, which will equate to cost savings, either through less frequent cartridge change-outs or reduced capital equipment expenditures.

FTC, headquartered in Houston, TX, USA is a 15-year old manufacturer of quality, high-efficiency filter elements, providing custom engineered solutions for food and beverage, biotechnology, oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, power, pipeline, water, waste-water, and environmental applications worldwide.
