United Filters adds Chloramine/Hydrogen Sulfide Reduction Cartridge to Address the Removal of Chloramines from Drinking Water

Amarillo, TX – United Filters, a global manufacturer of filtration systems, continues to diversify their product line to meet their customers’ needs. Their latest addition is a chloramine and hydrogen sulfide reduction cartridge to address the removal of chloramines from drinking water.

To meet EPA standards, many water treatment facilities have had to change the way they disinfect their water supplies, and chloramine is the additive they are now using in place of chlorine. Unfortunately, studies have identified that incomplete removal of chloramine can lead to respiratory and skin problems.

The chloramine removal in this new cartridge is accomplished through a special coconut shell catalytic carbon, which is capable of reducing many of the contaminants that ordinary granular carbon cannot.

“Chloramine is difficult to remove from water sources,” says Michael Figoff, president of United Filters, “but far from impossible. Our solution,” he adds, “gives customers an economical and highly effective solution, plus the knowledge that this chemical has been removed from their water supply.”

United Filters’ point-of-use filter can be used in homes, offices and restaurants, and is currently available in 10- and 20-inch lengths, and 2.5- and 4.5-inch diameters. All of their chloramine and hydrogen sulfide reduction cartridges contain coconut shell catalytic carbon.
