AAF Announces DuraShield(TM) Cartridge Filter

LOUISVILLE, KY --- October 2006 --- AAF International, manufacturer of American Air Filter' and AAF' products, and a world-leader in air pollution control products, is proud to announce the DuraShield Cartridge Filter.

The DuraShield Media used in the DuraShield Cartridge Filter is a proprietary high-strength, polyester reinforced media with a fluorocarbon meltblown outer surface layer that allows AAF to offer an industry leading, high-efficiency Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) 15 for this type of cartridge filter. The AAF Research and Development Group designed DuraShield as a surface-loading media which achieves optimum particulate release during pulse cleaning. Synthetic fibers used throughout DuraShield media will not disintegrate, unlike some surface-bonded media, and it can withstand the rigors of repeated pulse cleaning cycles. These outstanding features are coupled with low initial pressure drop and high moisture resistance to set a new benchmark for cartridge filters.

The DuraShield Cartridge filter is engineered for energy-efficient, continuous operation in harsh industrial environments. Galvanized steel end caps are bonded to the media to form a solid assembly. Pleat stabilization, utilizing precise glue-bead spacing, ensures uniform distance between the pleats, while corrosion-resistant galvanized steel screens hold the pleated media rigidly in place to minimize flexing during the reverse-pulse mode.

AAF International, which is based in Louisville, Kentucky, has more than 2,600 employees and 23 manufacturing facilities worldwide that support sales offices in 69 countries. AAF designs, develops, and manufactures air pollution control solutions for commercial, residential, industrial, clean room, transportation, fossil fuel plants and nuclear power applications. It also provides inlet air cooling and sound attenuation solutions for high-speed rotating machinery.
