TOPPER INDUSTRIAL Adapts Reliable Tip-Up Shelf to Mobile Carts
(Sturtevant, WI) - TOPPER INDUSTRIAL has developed a tuggable shelving cart that makes parts cradled in dunnage containers easier to access and is easier to position at the worksite.
The shelves on the new Tilt Shelf Cart tip easily out of the way once product has been removed. The counterbalanced shelves pivot, making them light and easy to lift.
This design involves no high maintenance moving parts, latches, springs or cylinders to wear out. Gravity does all the work, holding up or holding down the shelves safely, depending upon their position.
These carts enable a large quantity of dunnage-cradled product to be taken to and from the production area.
The Tilt Shelf Cart is part of the growing family of TOPPER INDUSTRIAL carts that provide production facilities with a forklift-free factory floor for greater employee safety and reduced forklift maintenance.
As product is taken off the cart, empty shelves can be tilted back for easy access to parts on the lower shelves. Once shelves are tilted back, their counterbalance pivot design keeps them in place despite any movement of the cart.
As all dunnage containers are custom, TOPPER INDUSTRIAL can work with manufacturing customers to develop a reasonably-priced cart design that fits the needs of the operation.
The cart has six heavy-duty casters for easy rolling and maneuvering of the cart loaded up to 3,000 lbs., either by using small tuggers or, once the carts have reached the work station, just 35 pounds of manual force. This ease of movement enables workers to shift the cart position for a more comfortable working position and to turn around the cart to access the other side once one side is emptied. Regardless of load distribution, the cart is balanced so it will not tip over.
The TOPPER Easy-Release Tow Bar hooks and unhooks in an instant from the tugger and the foot-operated floor stop keeps cart in place.
