Carbon Steel Electrodes facilitate post weld painting.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring smooth spray arc transfer with virtually no spatter, Select 70C-6LS provides optimized weld bead appearance, sidewall fusion, and tolerance of mill scale and rust. It can be used to weld sheet metal and thin plate and pipe. Minimizing fumes and spatter, Select 70C-7 exhibits flat, equal legged profile with few silicon islands and is suited for welding in difficult-to-ventilate areas. Both gas-shielded, composite metal-cored electrodes minimize post weld cleanup.

Electrodes That Facilitate Postweld Painting

Fort Loramie, OH - Select-Arc, Inc. offers two carbon steel, gas-shielded, composite metal cored electrodes formulated to deliver better weld appearance and minimize postweld cleanup. Both are also well suited for weldments that require painting.

Select 70C-6LS provides outstanding weld bead appearance with excellent tie-in while minimizing silicon islands to reduce cleanup time. This electrode features a smooth spray arc transfer with virtually no spatter, better sidewall fusion and a greater tolerance of mill scale and rust. Select 70C-6LS is utilized to weld sheet metal and thin plate and pipe in applications such as thin walled tanks, certain structural steel and earthmoving equipment.

Developed to produce significantly less spatter and lower fume generation than typical E70C-6M electrodes, Select 70C-7 exhibits a flat, equal legged profile with very few silicon islands and excellent bead geometry. This electrode's low fume levels (40% less than conventional metal cored wires) make it ideal for welding in difficult-to-ventilate areas. Select 70C-7 is used in applications such as car and truck frames, structural steels, trailers and earthmoving equipment.
