KEMET Introduces New Polyester and Polypropylene Radial Film Series

Latest Generation Radial Film Offers Excellent Electrical Performance in a Smaller Package

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- KEMET Corporation (NYSE: KEM), a leading manufacturer of tantalum, ceramic, aluminum, film, paper and electrolytic capacitors, today introduced its new Polyester and Polypropylene Radial Film Series of capacitors. These devices are suitable for use in a wide variety of applications in the industrial, lighting, consumer, transportation, and alternative energy markets.

"KEMET's latest generation of radial film capacitors offers smaller sizes, good self-healing and excellent electrical performance. A wide range of voltage and capacitance is available to meet most any need," said Andrew Bellavia, KEMET Director of Product Marketing for Film and Electrolytic Capacitors. "While these capacitors are used in a wide variety of applications, those who require either higher operating temperatures or higher AC voltages will find this new offering especially interesting."

Both standard 105°C and high-temperature 125°C options are available in F611-F612 and F622 Series Metallized Polyester Film, respectively, the latter being especially well suited for automotive and other applications with elevated temperatures.

F461-464 Series Single Metallized Polypropylene Film is offered with up to 4-section construction to meet the high voltage requirements of modern lighting ballasts and other applications such as alternative energy generation, H/EV control and charger electronics, and industrial power equipment. The capacitor's stability and frequency response also make F461-464 ideal for many audio applications.

These devices range in price from $0.05 - $1.00.
