Capacitive Sensors eliminate need for potentiometer.

Press Release Summary:

Microprocessor-based TRIPLESHIELD(TM) Capacitive Sensors feature single push-button Teach-Mode that allows user to program sensing range and output. They can be fully programmed remotely using remote teach wire. Sensing range is 12 mm for M18 and 30 mm for M30 style. Sensors automatically detect load type and adjust to NPN or PNP, and flush or non-flush mounting. They are protected against ESD, wire-conducted noise, airborne RF, and transient voltages.

Original Press Release:

Teach-Mode Tripleshield(TM) Capacitive Sensors

January 13, 2004 - Buffalo Grove, Illinois - Carlo Gavazzi has released the 3rd generation of their industry leading TRIPLESHIELD(TM) capacitive sensors, which incorporate new features and designs, thus making them the most versatile and advanced capacitive sensors on the market.

The microprocessor-based sensors now feature a single push-button "Teach Mode" that allows the user to program the sensing range and output, eliminating the need for a potentiometer. The sensors also have a remote-teach wire, allowing them to be fully programmed from a remote location. Sensing range has been increased to 12mm for the M18, and 30mm for the M30 style. The sensors have been designed to automatically detect the load type and adjust to either NPN or PNP, and to adjust for flush or non-flush mounting. By expanding their versatility, one part number now replaces four part numbers! Additional features include dirt, moisture, and water compensation, which allow the sensors to continually adjust and optimize their performance under difficult environments.

All Carlo Gavazzi TRIPLESHIELD(TM) capacitive sensors feature the industry's highest level of protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD), wire-conducted noise, airborne RF and transient voltages. These features make the TRIPLESHIELD(TM) series ideal for applications such as grain and plastic pellet level detection, liquid level detection, and detection of virtually any type of material.
