Envirosight® Introduces First Self-Leveling Video Pipeline Inspection System with Digital Video and Picture Capability
Randolph, New Jersey-April 15, 2003-Envirosight®, an innovator of video pipeline inspection technology, has just released the new RavenEye® self-leveling push camera system for inspection of main lines, laterals and drain pipes. This system is the first of its kind to embrace digital video and images to document pipe conditions, breaking away from more conventional methods like low-resolution VHS tape. It is also the first full-featured system to weigh in at just 24 lbs, offering such productivity-enhancing features as a self-leveling picture, 512 Hz sonde transmitter for locating problem areas underground, and an integral LCD with on-screen footage counter. RavenEye extends 165 feet, giving the end-user a small, complete package that performs in many different field environments and applications.
"I have never used a system that can do so much as a single unit," said David Pozgar, Superintendent of Greenfield
Township, PA. "It can be easily carried into a plant or house and is ready to use in minutes."
"We've had a very positive response to the mobility and easy operation of the RavenEye," said Richard Lindner, President of Envirosight LLC. "The product fits our strategy to bring unique, high-value products to market." Municipalities, engineering firms, building maintenance personnel and construction contractors can use the RavenEye to view inside pipes that may lie underground or run throughout facilities. Self-contained design makes the system easy to use and store, and a simple press of the power button can get anyone started.
The camera itself delivers high-resolution color video footage and is surrounded by 36 super-bright, white LEDs that
illuminate even large diameter lines. Reaching out 165 feet, RavenEye's fiberglass cable is rigid enough to be pushed
through long pipes with several bends. The entire RavenEye unit is built around a strong steel frame and can be shipped in a single case. The 5" color LCD detaches easily from the unit for ergonomic remote viewing, and is equipped for rugged outdoor use with a metal case and sun shield. All light, camera, sonde and footage counter controls are organized on a single panel and protected by a stainless steel housing. Digital video and pictures are stored on a Sony® Memory Stick®; analog video can be stored on mini DV tape.
