Original Press Release:

Steadicam F-24SE(TM) System for Video and Film Production

CES 2007, Las Vegas, Booth 31253 - January 8 - Steadicam, a division of The Tiffen Company, will display its latest technological advancements at CES 2007. Based on the innovative and award-winning features of the Steadicam FLYER that earned it 'DV Professional Association's Best of Show' at the 2004 NAB, the STEADICAM® F-24SE(TM) Camera Stabilization System now offers further cutting edge technology.

This unique lightweight Steadicam system incorporates a 7" LCD monitor with variable framelines and is complemented by the Iso-Elastic Steadicam Flyer arm and lightweight LEATHER vest. It is also wired for 12/24 volts (switchable - standard) and is designed for use with the new Steadicam Power Cube battery system. The F-24SE is engineered to accommodate a wide range of both lightweight television cameras and also lightweight 16mm and 35mm film cameras. This unique complete System is provided with virtually every accessory required for normal operation. The 24 volt capability of the F-24SE addresses a key emerging market from one of the most respected names in Film Camera manufacturers, Arri, and its new Model 235 35mm camera. The Arri 235 is the first fully featured 35mm camera to weigh less than 15 pounds, and compliments the F-24SE's 4-15 pound (2.1-6.8Kg) weight lifting range. These new features are in addition to the Flyer's other advanced capabilities. They include its patented Iso-Elastic(TM) Articulated Stabilizer Arm, proprietary Arm/Vest Connector and aluminum post with patented Low Mass Gimbal, all designed by the inventor of Steadicam, Garrett Brown. The system has the built in ability to parallel up battery power sources to double the run-time on 12V systems. The Fail-safe system assures either 12 or 24-volt operation.

In addition to its roster of capabilities, the F-24SE is equipped with the latest, most powerful Steadicam "Power Cube", the new, dual 6000mah IDX batteries that will drive your sled forever, and can handle any camera's power requirements. Two Power Cube modules and charger are provided with the system.

The two-section long travel Iso-Elastic(TM) arm is a dual articulated "No-Tools" design that can be adjusted while supporting the camera. This patented design allows the Steadicam operator to effortlessly place the arm in any position. This is especially useful for "lock-off" shots.

The new Composite NTSC/PAL 7" Color screen, 700 nits brightness monitor, with built-in variable adjust Frameline Generator provides good contrast from dark to light situations. As a necessary part of the overall system design, the monitor weight and location on the sled assures the operator perfect balance and ease of operation.

The F-24SE now offers its latest state-of-the-art, ergonomically designed LEATHER vest with 100% positive vest to shoulder clips and stiff front spar and yoke. There are positive clamps throughout, steel socket block, and exclusive new metal over-center buckles. The socket block can be instantly adjusted vertically on the spar for extra lens height, which is especially useful in low mode position, and easily flipped for right or left side operating. The vest is also available in two basic sizes to precisely fit any operator.

Utilizing a proven fully ball raced three-axis gimbal, the operator has the ability to capture the fluid movement that only Steadicam® can provide. No-tools precision camera stage establishes a solid base for the camera and facilitates smooth adjustment ease from side to side plus fore and aft.

The precision adjustable camera mounting stage with exclusive new long dovetail plate, aluminum post and interface to the stage form a solid bond to assure no jitter in the picture, as the operator captures those unique scenes.

A low mode kit is standard with the F-24SE along with the Turtle Base "C" Stand and hard case. This new case design includes an embossed Steadicam logo on the top cover. The case color is black to complement the rig and has wheels and a handle for ease of travel.

The F-24SE System includes a self-instructing SK(TM) videotape with manual to permit the user to become familiar with the set-up and operation of the system. It is the latest of the Steadicam® Professional models available for cameras from 2 to 45 pounds.
