Tiffen® introduces New Steadicam Technology with G-50 Arm

IBC 2005, Stand 11.241, September 9th-13th - As part of its 30th Anniversary celebration, Steadicam, a division of The Tiffen Company, will unveil its latest technological advancements at IBC 2005, with the introduction of its new Steadicam® G-50 Arm. The result of years of research and testing by Garrett Brown and his design team, the G-50 Arm is the lightest, most rigid, best-behaving arm ever developed, with the greatest vertical travel and lifting range in Steadicam history. It hosts a range of innovative features that include the use of new materials that keep it incredibly light, yet amazingly stiff and torsion resistant. The G-50 Arm is the most cost-effective ever developed by Steadicam. Using titanium components, the G-50 Arm, supplied with Steadicam's new Clipper 2, and Archer using steel components is also compatible with Steadicam's current suite of camera stabilization systems. The arm features Steadicam's proprietary no-tools adjustment of lift, introducing two new mind-bending exclusive additions. "Ride", an exclusive feature to the G-50, permits knob-adjustable iso-elasticity and "Geo", an active tie-rod geometry that automatically extends the performance curve. It means the entire vertical range of the arm is its "sweet spot", for incredibly precise and smooth control, better handling, less strain and no lock up.
