Cambridge Engineering Products May Qualify for Extended Tax Deductions

Owners of warehouses and other commercial structures could receive 100% deduction for the addition of energy-efficient HTHV products in 2015 and 2016

ST. LOUIS – On December 19 of 2015, the President signed into law the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act.  This law includes the extension of the 179D Tax Deduction, also known as the EPAct, originally signed into law by President Bush in 2005.  This law provides a 100% tax deduction for energy efficient products installed by owners of commercial buildings, and this extension applies retroactively to all energy efficient retrofits for 2015, as well as those installed through the end of 2016.

Cambridge Engineering, the leading manufacturer of high temperature heating and ventilation (HTHV) direct-fired gas products for commercial spaces, is pleased to note its energy efficient S and SA-Series space heating products may qualify for these tax deductions.

Sized for the efficient heating and ventilation of commercial spaces, Cambridge Engineering's direct-fired gas heaters are documented to achieve 40-70% energy savings over other unit heaters or traditional boiler applications, and use 100% outside air for safe, efficient heating.  In addition to the significant energy savings these products provide, they also qualify for custom and prescriptive rebates from gas utility providers across the nation.

"We're very pleased that, in addition to the significant natural gas savings our products provide customers," said Randy Niederer, director of marketing for Cambridge, "They may also receive additional payback in the form of utility rebates and, now, tax deductions for all Cambridge HTHV products installed in 2015 and 2016."  Niederer further noted that, as Cambridge is an Energy Star Partner of the U.S. Department of Energy's Better Buildings Alliance (BBA), these deductions could provide yet another incentive to companies who are members of the BBA help in achieving the alliance's goal of reducing overall commercial energy consumption by 20% by the year 2020.
