Compact Cam Switches Save Space on Control Panels

WEYMOUTH, MA - Series 20 Cam Switches from Electroswitch feature a very small footprint designed to reduce the space required on power industry control panels. These instrument and control switches can be mounted on 3" centers and can be built with up to 12 decks (24 poles) and up to 12 positions. Switching action is controlled by the shape of the cams, allowing a nearly infinite number of combinations using standard parts. This simplicity and flexibility makes it easy for customers to design their own switches. All Series 20 models feature double-break, silver-plated contacts enclosed in rigid thermoset plastic housing for long, reliable life. Three basic configurations - Standard, Lighted, and Modular - provide for virtually any instrument and control application.

The Standard Series 20 Switches have a two-hole mount and provide a continuous rating of 24 amps at 600 volts and interrupt ratings of 3A/125VDC or 20A/600VAC. Control switches have a mechanical red/green target, slip contacts for alarm and indicator circuits, pull-to-lock handles for safety lockout, and spring return to normal (vertical) position. Instrument switches have shorting ("make-before-break") contacts, 45° positive "snappy" positioning detent action, and pre-wired jumpers. Contacts are spring-loaded closed and mechanically opened by cam action to prevent sticking. The terminal screw and pressure clamp will easily accommodate stranded wire with compatible lugs or solid wire with or without lugs. Options include 30°, 60°, and 90° detenting, key-operated drives, and a choice of handles. Prices start at $30 with delivery quoted at 1 week ARO.

The Series 20P Lighted Switches have a four-hole mount and offer the same features, ratings, and options of the Standard Series 20 Switch plus one, two, or three pre-wired status indicator lamps or LEDs (red, green, amber, or other color). Maintenance and circuit testing is accomplished from the front of the panel. Prices start at $50 with delivery quoted at 2 weeks ARO.

The Series 20M Modular Plug-in Switches combine the features and options of the Standard Series 20 Switch into a modular enclosure 4.75" high, 2.62" wide, and 6-9" deep (depending on the number of decks) with a Burndy Bantamate Trim Trio round plug-in connector and quick-disconnect capability. Available with or without lamps or LEDs, this switch has a continuous rating of 20 amps at 240 volts and interrupt ratings of 20A/120VAC, 20A/240VAC, and 20A/24VDC. Maintenance and circuit testing is accomplished from the front of the panel without service loops. Prices start at $50 with delivery quoted at 2 weeks ARO.
