Calibration Unit simulates full-bridge amplifiers.

Press Release Summary:

With lightweight housing that fits into confined spaces, K148 calibration unit has 5 calibration ranges, each with 10 steps for calibrating both dc and carrier-frequency amplifiers from 225 Hz to 4.8 kHz from ± 0.2 mV/V to ± 100 mV/V. Accuracy and linearity of 0.0025% reduces to 0.01% for dc and carrier frequencies of 600 Hz and higher. Unit can be connected to all amplifiers for strain gage sensors with 1-8 input channels.

Strain-Gage Calibration Unit Simulates Full-Bridge Amplifiers

The K148 calibration unit from HBM makes amplifier calibration highly reliable by simulating full bridges (voltage ratio mV/V). It can be connected to all amplifiers for strain gage sensors with one to eight input channels.

The K148 is controlled using a PC attached via a USB port or an RS232 interface enabling the data to be safely captured directly on the PC. Time is saved by using the K148 when calibrating systems with a large number of amplifiers attached, because it provides completely automatic calibration and the calibration steps can be easily adjusted.

Both the channels and calibration steps can be individually programmed to the user's requirements further reducing the time and effort needed for verification and calibration. When used in combination with the MGCplus SwiftCal calibration software, the K148 gives a completely automated solution for calibrating MGCplus amplifiers.

Manual operation of the device is easy and intuitive as the design incorporates push-button controls. The lightweight housing fits easily into confined spaces and can be stacked on top of HBM's K800 calibration unit for strain-gage quarter-bridge amplifiers.

The K148 has 5 calibration ranges each of which comprises ten steps for calibrating both DC and carrier-frequency amplifiers from 225 Hz up to 4.8 kHz from ± 0.2 mV/V up to ± 100 mV/V. The calibration unit provides high accuracy and linearity of 0.0025% which reduces to 0.01% for DC and carrier frequencies of 600 Hz and higher.

A calibration certificate can be ordered together with the K148 calibration unit from HBM's accredited German Calibration Service (DKD) laboratory when it is intended for use as a calibration standard. The calibration certificate is proof of traceability to national standards. HBM's laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for the measured quantities force, torque, pressure, and voltage ratio mV/V.
