TRANSMAGIC CAD Translation Products Certified for Autodesk Inventor

Inventor Users Welcome Expanded 3D CAD File Access

DENVER, Colorado, February 23, 2005 - TransMagic, Inc., makers of innovative and affordable 3D CAD translation software have announced the certification of their TransMagic and TransMagic CATIA V5 CAD file translation products by Autodesk's Inventor team. As a member of the Autodesk Developer Network and Inventor Partner program, the TransMagic products were certified following the development of an Inventor plug-in to translate 3D files directly into Inventor 9 and the soon to be released Inventor 10.

The TransMagic products work standalone or as plug-ins to Inventor to provide direct access to an expanded list of CAD formats and model repair functionality. When installed, TransMagic detects Autodesk Inventor and offers their customers the option to install the new plug-in. This feature allows TransMagic customers, who also own a license of Inventor, to translate files from the Inventor menu, thereby reducing the number of steps required to import CAD files, such as Pro/Engineer, Unigraphics or CATIA, directly into Inventor. In addition to file translation and viewing, TransMagic virtually eliminates the need to manually 'rework' models for use as 'solid models'. TransMagic's advanced geometry "Repair" system will stitch surfaces together, close gaps and recondition parts for use as 'solid models' in Autodesk Inventor or any other CAD/CAM system.

"We are excited about our Inventor Certification," commented Todd Reade, President of TransMagic, Inc. "Today's complex manufacturing typically involves the use of several 3D CAD/CAM/CAE software products to complete the manufacturing process. Now, with TransMagic, Inventor customers have a powerful solution which allows them to use 3D models from any other CAD system."

TransMagic provides CAD formats that are compatible with every CAD software system making TransMagic the first complete and affordable multi-format application of its kind. TransMagic products support most major MCAD and neutral file formats including CATIA V5, CATIA V4, Unigraphics, Pro/Engineer, ACIS, Parasolid, STEP, StereoLithography (STL), IGES and HSF. In addition to 3D CAD translation and geometry repair, TransMagic's products provide extensive file viewing and collaboration tools. TransMagic customers can collaborate and view 3D files over the Internet or email 3D models to co-workers and view them using any Internet browser.
