CAD Software offers synchronized turning capabilities.

Press Release Summary:

FeatureCAM seamlessly integrates 4-axis, twin turret functionality into its existing turning programs. Combined with full machine simulation, synchronized turning provides full program control and helps reduce cycle time. Software also permits follow and pinch turning. Machine simulation allows programmers to set attributes for each type of machine, including horsepower and preferred feeds and speeds; machines with dual spindles and up to 4 turrets can be programmed.

FeatureCAM Announces Synchronized Turning Release

4-Axis Twin Turret Machining Capability for Production Manufacturing

Demonstrations at EASTEC 2005, Booth 1528

Salt Lake City, UT - March 3, 2005 - Engineering Geometry Systems, developer of FeatureCAM products, announces the addition of synchronized turning for production machining in their next major software FeatureCAM release, available this summer. Demonstrations will be available at EASTEC, Booth 1528, in W. Springfield, Massachusetts from May 24 to May 26.

The new 4-axis functionality is seamlessly integrated into FeatureCAM's existing turning programs. Combined with FeatureCAM's new full machine simulation, synchronized turning provides production machinists full program control and cycle-time reduction. It supports synchronization, follow turning, and pinch turning.

Machines with dual spindles and up to four turrets, common in production turning environments such as automotive and aerospace manufacturing, can be programmed. In addition, the machine simulation allows programmers to set up attributes for each type of machine, including horsepower and preferred feeds and speeds.

"With FeatureCAM's synchronized turning, CNC programmers will get the control they need to reduce cycle times and make several parts quickly, with good tolerance and surface finish. FeatureCAM has long had a reputation for being easy to learn and easy to use, and with this release we're strengthening our position in the production arena," says Tom McCollough, Vice President of Software Development for FeatureCAM.
