Cimatron E 4.0 Release Provides Enhanced Solutions For The Tooling Industry

Givat Shmuel, ISRAEL, August 15, 2002 - Cimatron Ltd. (NASDAQ: CIMT), a leading developer of CAD/CAM solutions for the tooling industry, today announced the worldwide release of Cimatron E 4.0. With this release, Cimatron maintains its leading market position and offers its customers increased power and flexibility to stay ahead of the competition.

Cimatron E encompasses a set of powerful, easy-to-use 3D design tools. The unified solid-surface-wireframe modeling environment allows the user to manipulate imported data, or create conceptual part designs with equal ease. In the design process, Cimatron E smoothly integrates tools to split part geometry, finds and implements engineering changes, creates electrodes and inserts, and details tooling components. During manufacturing, Cimatron E implements 2.5- to 5-axis toolpaths using high-speed machining, knowledge of stock remaining and templates to dramatically reduce programming and machining time.

Cimatron E 4.0's new applications include MoldDesign, a 3D solid parametric solution for automation of the mold design and assembly process, and QuickDrill, a dedicated knowledge-based application for automation of the plate-drilling process, from handling incoming geometry through to final NC procedures and documentation.

Cimatron continues to enhance its NC power with a special focus on high-speed machining and 5-axis machining. New strategies include Swarf machining, where surface smoothness is increased by cutting with the side of the tool rather than the tip, and Deep Cavity machining, where head inclination and complete tool/holder gauge checking enable machining with shorter tools and at higher feed rates.

"These enhancements represent Cimatron's commitment to providing advanced solutions to our customers in the tooling industry, many of whom have been using Cimatron for over 15 years," says Natan Mossak, VP Sales of Cimatron. "Cimatron E provides a solution which has already captured the attention of the global tooling industry, and undoubtedly, will help maintain Cimatron's position as market leader, through its innovation, technology and focus," he adds.
