Cables provide flexible data transmission solutions.

Press Release Summary:

UL-approved Chainflex® CF211 and CF240 feature PVC-based outer jacket and short-pitch conductor twisting. Twisted pair CF211 has high-coverage shield, 70% linear and 90% optical, and can be used with bus systems. Minimum bend radius is 12x cable diameter. Type CF240 has same coverage shield and bend radius and is available in 21 sizes with gauge range of 26-20 AWG. Both have continuous-flex temperature range of 23 to 158°F and operating voltage of 300 V.

Chainflex Cables Deliver Cost-Effective Data Transmission Solutions

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - May 12, 2005 - Igus® Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of Chainflex® continuous-flex cables, offers cost-effective data transmission solutions for applications without a tight bend radius. Chainflex CF211 and CF240 data cables are UL approved and feature the standard Chainflex design attributes such as a low-adhesion PVC-based outer jacket, high flexural strength shielding and short-pitch conductor twisting for long cable life. These cables operate seamlessly through millions of cycles in long or short travel conditions, using a larger bend radius than the typical Chainflex cable to provide a more economical alternative.

CF211 is a twisted pair data cable with a high-coverage shield (70 percent linear/90 percent optical) optimized for flexible performance. This cable can be used with bus systems, although it is not specifically designed for any one particular type. The minimum bend radius is 12 times the cable diameter (and as low as 10 times the cable diameter for less than 1 million cycles). The CF211 is available in 18 sizes.

The CF240 is a shielded data cable with the same high-coverage shield. The minimum bend radius is also 12 times the cable diameter (or 10 times the cable diameter for less than one million cycles). The CF240 is available in 21 sizes with a gauge range of 26 to 20 AWG.

Both the CF211 and CF 240 have a continuous-flex temperature range of 23 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit and an operating voltage of 300V. They are both flame-retardant according to VDE, UL approved and CE certification.
