U.S. Design Patent Awarded for PEM® Type TDO(TM) Cable-Tie Hook

DANBORO, PA, September 10, 2002 - A U.S. design patent (No. D461,705 S) has been awarded to PEM® Fastening Systems for its recently introduced Type TDO(TM) self-clinching cable-tie hooks. The inventor is Brian G. Bentrim of Hatfield, PA, a member of the engineering staff at PEM Fastening Systems, whose parent company is PennEngineering.

Type TDO cable hooks provide secure attachment points for mounting cables and wires to electronic chassis or enclosures without the problems associated with traditional mounting methods.

The hardware's "hook" feature provides users with the capability to easily attach, remove, and return tie-bundled cables and wires from their mounting points when servicing components or replacing or upgrading cables and wires.

As with other PEM self-clinching cable-tie mounting hardware, PEM Type TDO cable-tie hooks install permanently without screws or other hardware; utilize no adhesives that can fail over time and temperature cycling; and promote EMI/RFI shielding and reduce the possibility of contamination by eliminating the need for any openings in an enclosure or chassis.

PEM Type TDO self-clinching cable-tie hooks are available in several sizes and can be installed in sheets as thin as .040"/1.02mm or as thick as .125"/3.18mm.
