AEMC Introduces Fault Mapper(TM) Cable Tester



The Fault Mapper(TM) Model CA7024 is a handheld, alphanumeric, TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) cable length meter and fault locator, designed to measure the length of power and communication cables and to indicate the distance to a fault on the cable. The unit measures cable length and indicates distance to open or short circuit faults to a range of 6000 ft (2000m). Results are displayed on a highly visible electroluminescent backlit LCD. The Model CA7024 includes an internal library of standard cable types enabling accurate measurement without the necessity of entering Velocity of Propagation (Vp) information. The Model CA7024 also produces an audible tone, which can be used for cable tracing. The unit includes a BNC pigtail cable with alligator clips and 4 x 1.5V AA batteries.
