Lithe and Lissom: Chainflex® Cables CF21.UL

igus® has developed Chainflex® CF21.UL especially for indoor applications with light oil flow such as storage and retrieval units in longitudinal and lift axles, handling and machining centers. This CSA and UL approved cable has been technically optimized. Now it is up to 25% thinner, depending on the cable cross section. The electric structure and the core identification fulfill the specifications of the leading drive technology. The manufacturer guaranties a minimum bending radius of 7,5 cable diameter, however, clearly smaller bend radii could be found through internal testing.

Unique construction and material qualities allow the use at high loads. A stranding around a high flectional strength core, matched for the use in energy chains and a gusset-filling extruded inner jacket ensure safe longitudinal guidance of the stranded structure. This cable is additionally equipped with a "real" pair braid shield and a special conductor with TPE isolation. An extremely flectional resistant copper shield offers a covering for the signal pairs and the entire shield of app. 70% linear and 90% optically. The optimized shield braid ensures maximum EMV-protection.

Noticeable for this "slim" cable is a travel of up to 100 m, tested in the igus® own technical training center. Here all igus® cables are tested among most difficult conditions of use.
