AAA Communications Announces Cable Markers Availability

Low Cost Products offer High Value to Network Professionals

SACRAMENTO - July 26, 2004 - Today at the AAA Communications headquarters outside of Sacramento, California, owner Patrick Dotterweich announced immediate availability of the packaged Cable Markers product. The Cable Markers have been used internally by AAA Communications for over a year, and are now being made available to Networking Professionals, Cable and Wire installers and the general public. "This product simply works" noted Dotterweich, "it provides a clean, simple, no nonsense way to keep wiring closets organized. The migration of mission critical, time sensitive, applications to Local Area Networks demands that wiring closets, the nervous system of the network, be kept in order."

AAA's Cable Markers are white plastic "C" Clips with black numbering, 0 through 9. These clips are applied to Category 3,4,5 or 6 wiring that connects switches to servers and patch panels. By labeling both ends, IT mangers can quickly identify cable routes with out removing cable management trays or hand tracing wires through the 'network spaghetti' that plagues wiring closets. The timesaving is enormous.

Standard retail packaging is a 400-count bag with even distribution of digits 0 through 9. Suggested retail price is $9.95 per bag with quantity and wholesale pricing breaks available. "For under $10 these can greatly improve network usability and support response time", said Dotterweich.

Competition
Other solutions include tape based numbered stickers, heat shrink applied labels, large plastic clips and home spun solutions like masking tap that is hand written. "We tried all the other methods, but all had drawbacks" Dotterweich quoted, "Tape based solutions cannot be easily changed, or even rotated on the wire for easy viewing. Tape systems often require special applicators, and leave a sticky residue that attracts dust and contaminants. Heat shrink based and large clip based solutions just don't work in a restricted space environment and require taking the network cable offline. AAA Cable markers have low insertion force and can be applied to operational networks without fear of service disruption."
