Greenlee's Cable Anchor(TM) Helps Organize and Secure up to Eight Power Cables at a Time
ROCKFORD, Ill. Oct. 3, 2005 -Greenlee's new Cable Anchor(TM) can quickly and easily secure up to eight power or multiple voice, data, and video cables to wood studs and plates using only one nail, saving electricians and installers time and effort.
"The Cable Anchor provides a significant improvement when compared to traditional staples that typically secure only two cables," said Jim Eisele, product manager. "The Cable Anchor's features provide a helping hand to the installer, making installations quick and professional."
The Cable Anchor's innovative holding fingers prevent each cable, regardless of size, from going slack during installation. The Cable Anchor positions all cables at least 1-1/4" (32 mm) from the edge of studs and plates to meet the 2005 NEC 300-4(d) and the Canadian Electric Code Part 1, Section 12-516.
Using the Cable Anchor is easy. Simply align the start gauge on the side of the Cable Anchor to the edge of the stud or plate. Drive the provided nail until it is fully seated with the stop gauge against the edge of the stud or plate. Press smaller cables directly into the desired slot. For larger cables, press your fingers on either side of the control tab on top of the Cable Anchor to open the cable slot, then place and dress the cables as desired. Unlike staples, cables can be easily added to or removed from the Cable Anchor at any time.
The Cable Anchor comes in a bright yellow color that makes it easy to see in low light conditions making visual verification easy. It's made from high impact resistant material for cold weather durability yet is also flame retardant. The Cable Anchor comes packaged in convenient re-sealable bags.
